Pakistan’s security agencies have arrested yet another nuclear scientist, third in last one week, on suspicion of working on a top secret project of helping Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaida outfit to prepare a nuclear weapon, well-placed sources said here today.

Taliban execute Pashtoon commander
Abdul HaqKabul/Islamabad, October 26
Former Afghan resistance commander Abdul Haq was today executed near Kabul after his capture, a Taliban spokesman said. “He was shot with a Kalashnikov automatic rifle around 1 pm (1.30 pm IST),” Abdul Hanan Hemat, head of the Taliban’s Bakhter information agency, said.

US warplanes dropped two bombs on the outskirts of Kabul in an afternoon raid today, residents said. Two large explosions were heard, one near the airport on the northeastern side of the city and the other in the northwest, close to the headquarters of the Taliban’s 16th Division.
