18 Christians killed
Assailants spray bullets in Pak church

Islamabad, October 28
Eighteen persons were killed when masked gunmen sprayed bullets on a Sunday congregation at a church in Bahawalpur in south Punjab. The gunmen, who came on motor cycles, entered the church after killing a policeman standing guard and started firing indiscriminately. Fourteen persons were killed on the spot while three others died in the hospital before they could be attended upon.

Militant killed, siege around Budgam mosque lifted
Srinagar, October 28
The 45- hour long siege of a mosque in Badgam district in central Kashmir ended on Monday with security forces killing the militant, belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit, holed up inside it, an official spokesman said. Three BSF personnel and a Special Police Officer were injured in the operation which ended without any damage to the place of worship, the spokesman said.

Pakistanis fighting alongside Taliban

In a complicated scenario, a large number of Pakistani nationals are fighting in Afghanistan along with the Taliban against the Northern Alliance, which is getting logistic and tactical support from the USA.

Germany resumes aid to Pakistan
Islamabad, October 28
Pakistani Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz said today that Germany had resumed economic aid with a grant of 50 million marks ($ 22.83 million) for this financial year.
