3 killed in Quetta blast
Islamabad, October 28
At least three persons were killed and over 24 others injured when a bomb exploded in a mini bus carrying them in Pakistan’s southwestern city of Quetta today, the police said. The bomb, hidden under a seat, went off as the bus was passing through the Johna Orak area, they said. The police cordoned off the area soon after the incident and began investigations. PTI

200 fall ill
Guwahati, October 28
Nearly 200 persons, including women and children, fell ill after consuming food at Simlabari in Kamrup district, Deputy Commissioner A.A. Hazarika said today. The afflicted people complained of stomach upset and were vomiting after taking food at a Chalisha (Muslim funeral) function near Baihat Chariali yesterday. PTI

Afghanistan rocked
New Delhi, October 28
An earthquake of moderate intensity rocked the Hindukush region of Afghanistan in the early hours today. The earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale occurred at 1 am (IST). The epicenter of the quake was at 36.33° north latitude and 70.23° east longitude. The damage is yet to be ascertained. UNI

Curfew extended
Nasik, October 28
Death toll in the riot-hit powerloom town of Malegaon has gone to eight with one person succumbing to stab injuries yesterday in hospital. The situation in the town was peaceful but tense and an indefinite curfew clamped since Friday afternoon was extended till 2 pm today. UNI
