Taliban
lose key district
Islamabad, November 3
In the first major defeat at
the hands of opposition forces since the launch of US military
operation in Afghanistan, the ruling Taliban today lost a key
district near the town of Mazar-i-Sharif, but said they would not
shy away from fighting the war with the USA even during Ramzan. |
The
Northern Alliance says US ground troops would be needed to
gain complete control of the Bagram airfield.
