RITES bags another contract in Vietnam

RITES Limited, a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Railways has bagged another contract in Vietnam for the supply of five metre gauge (1000 mm) YDM 4 type diesel electric locomotives. According to a press note issued by RITES, the contract provides for maintenance, spares and training apart from the locomotives supply for the Vietnam Railways. This contract follows a contract signed with the Vietnam Railways in March for the supply of five locomotives of the same type and class. The locomotives are being manufactured at the Indian Railways Production Unit, the Diesel Locomotive Works at Varanasi. RITES has been supplying spare parts and components required for locomotives, passenger coaches and air brake related items on a regular basis to the Vietnam Railways.
