Three members of a family are among at least six persons killed in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir since yesterday. A police spokesman told newsmen here this evening that a father and his two sons were killed in explosion at their house in Lawaypopra village of Baramulla district last evening.

At least four persons were killed 16 others injured, four of them seriously when a passenger bus skidded on the road and rolled down into a gorge near Sunderbani in Rajouri district today the police said.

Man, 2 sons among 6 killed in Kashmir

Three members of a family are among at least six persons killed in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir since yesterday.

A police spokesman told newsmen here this evening that a father and his two sons were killed in explosion at their house in Lawaypopra village of Baramulla district last evening. One militant of the Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen was also killed in the incident, as two suspected militants were planting IEDs into two LPG cylinders in the house of Abdul Rahman Khan. While Abdul Rahman Khan and his sons Sadiq and Ishaq were killed, his daughter received injuries.

The explosion was caused when two militants of the Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen were fitting IEDs in two LPG cylinders in the house. One of them, identified as Abdul Rashid Sheikh of Ashtingoo village, was also injured in the explosion. He was nabbed from near the village this morning, while his accomplice managed to escape.

A foreign militant, Abu Yasir of the Lashkar-e-Toiba, was killed in an encounter with the security forces at Papet forests in the Handwara area of Kupwara district in north Kashmir yesterday. One AK rifle, three magazines, 120 AK rounds and a wireless set were seized from the site of the encounter, the police said.

In another incident, a foreign militant, Attequllah Rahman, was killed in an encounter with security forces at Mifhama, Kulgam, in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Master Ghulam Hasan Bhat of Yachgam, Budgam district, succumbed to his injuries in a hospital here today. He had been seriously injured when some unidentified gunmen shot at him two weeks ago.

One militant of the Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen surrendered before the security forces at Trehgam in Kupwara district and handed over one AK rifle, three AK magazines, 60 rounds and a wireless set.

Four die as bus falls into gorge

Jammu, November 26
At least four persons were killed 16 others injured, four of them seriously when a passenger bus skidded on the road and rolled down into a gorge near Sunderbani in Rajouri district today the police said.

According to a police official, a bus coming from Rajouri skidded on the road while negotiating a curve and rolled down 100-metre deep into a gorge killing four persons on the spot.

The injured were shifted to the Jammu medical college.
