14-year-old cooks up kidnap tale

Fear of parent’s anger over the loss of money led a 14-year-old boy to cook-up a story of his kidnapping, which left the parents and relatives panic-stricken for almost 24 hours and gave anxious moments to a team of the city police that in the backdrop of the sensational Sonu murder case remained on its toes at all through.

'Say no to Shahtoosh'

Opposing the wearing of Shahtoosh shawls, which are prepared from the wool of an endangered animal called 'Chiru', also known as theTibetan Antelope, the Wildlife Trust of India has stated that those who manufactured such shawls misled people by saying that they collected the wool shed by the animal when it grazes amid bushes and rocks in hilly areas.
Chirus, the endangered species of antelope found in Tibet, which is killed in large numbers for making shahtoosh shawls.

DCC (U) to hold rally on December 8

One dies in accident

The Sarabha Nagar police has registered a case under Sections 279,304-B and 427 of the IPC against an unknown driver of Maruti Zen car ( PB 61-G 6410) who hit a cyclist near Malhar Cinema yesterday and fled the spot. The victim later succumbed to his injuries at the DMC Hospital.
