APHC plots killing of rivals: JKMM New Delhi, December 8 Blaming the APHC for the killing of senior JKMM leader Sajjad Jafri, JKMM president Mir Khursheed said that the APHC and the ISI were acting in collaboration .Mr Khursheed said that he had received information on the ISI trying to target other JKMM leaders at the behest of the APHC. “I am also on their list,” Mr Khursheed said, adding that his friends in Islamabad had told him about the conspiracy. The JKMM chief said that people of the state were unable to lead a peaceful life due to incursion of militants and the ISI of late had been pushing “murderers, rapists and drug traffickers” into the state. He said that India should invite former PoK premier Abdul Qayoom Khan for finding ways to solve the Kashmir issue. Mr Khursheed said that the APHC had been objecting to ceratin statements of Mr Qayoom as these were seen as impediments to the designs of the ISI. |

Sheikh Abdullah remembered Kathua, December 8 The present government, Mr Slathia said, was making every endeavour to bring the militancy affected state back on the track of progress. During the past five years, he said, all parts of the state witnessed various developmental activities. Besides, school buildings and bridges damaged in the militant activities were rebuilt, numerous welfare programmes launched potable drinking water supply augmented and the economy of the state improved. Paying tributes to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, the minister claimed the government was trying for the uplift of the poor. Praising Sheikh Abdullah the minister said he rejected the two-nation
theory. Mr Slathia urged the people to follow in footsteps of Sheikh Abdullah for bringing prosperity in the state. On the developmental activities in the district, Mr Slathia said the recent joint meeting of the Cabinet and the District Development Board had approved the setting up of a separate degree college for women. Besides, he said, a degree college at Bani/Basohli would be set up. He said Rs 20 lakh had been provided for the repair of the distribution lines and changing of old conductors in the district. Similarly Rs 1 crore had been earmarked for the beautification of the town.
Besides, the Kandi area of the district would be linked through roads. Speaking of the occasion, Deputy Speaker of the state Legislative Assembly, Malik Ghulam Hyder, said Sher-e-Kashmir had brought Jammu and Kashmir under the democratic set up and people of the state were provided with social justice. It was also under his leadership that land to tiller programme was introduced in the state. On the occasion, Mr Slathia distributed blankets to the poor people. The minister inaugurated two primary health centres at Rattanpur and Bhagia in Hiranagar tehsil yesterday. |
