Selja flays atrocities on farmers
Our Correspondent

Fatehabad, December 26
The AICC Secretary Ms Selja, has accused the state government of crossing all boundaries in “committing atrocities” on the agitating farmers at Kandela village in Jind district and alleged that the state government has been exploiting the farmers most.

Talking to mediapersons at Chamar Khera village in this district yesterday, Ms Selja said the government that never tired of boosting to be championing the cause of farmers, had shown its real face by opening fire on the peaceful agitating farmers. She claimed that the government would not last and reminded the case of Bansi Lal government in the state that, she said, had to pay the price for committing atrocities on farmers. She demanded that the government should get the incident of firing on farmers investigated by an independent agency and announce a compensation of Rs.1lakh each to the farmers injured in the incident.

Ms Selja claimed that the Congress would win the forthcoming poll in the UP, Uttranchal and Punjab Assemblies. Commenting on the efforts being made by the INLD in these states, Ms Selja said the party would not be able to save its security deposits in any of the Assembly constituencies let alone the question of winning. She said the history of Punjab and Rajasthan elections would be repeated in these elections where the INLD drew a blank.

Castigating the Pakistan Government, the AICC secretary said it stood exposed before the world as a nation that harboured the perpetrators of terrorism. She said the Indian Government had already given proof of Pakistan’s involvement in the December 13 attacks on the Parliament House and Pakistan would no longer be able to befool the world community on this issue.
