A renowned philanthropist of Ludhiana, Avtar Singh Grewal was a dynamic man. He was born on June 17, 1919, at Kaunke village. He was a graduate from Khalsa College, Amritsar and he got his degree in law from Lahore.

Cultural contests mark annual function
Ludhiana, December 29
Students of Param Institute, Ranjit Nagar, participated in various cultural contests that marked its annual function. The cultural programme began with a shabad, followed by Punjabi folk songs, “Meri rangli madhani”, “Multani kangan ghara de” and “Uddun Uddun kare mera jee”.
