Hardcore criminal held, arms recovered

Praveen alias Pappu, a dreaded criminal involved in more than eight cases of robbery, attempt to murder and theft was nabbed by the PCR staff posted at Bomdola bus stand near Kapashera in Nazafgarh road on Monday.

Gang of auto-lifters busted
New Delhi, March 5
With the arrest of four auto-lifters, the South district police claimed to have solved six cases of auto-theft. The gang was also receiver of stolen vehicles. The accused Haider Ali, Nasir, Anish Khan and Kallu, all residents of Savitri Nagar, were specialists in stealing Yamaha motorcycles.

Cash, valuables stolen from two houses

Criminals broke into two houses in Sector 19 and 58 here and decamped with Rs 50,000, jewellery and other valuables. The total losses have been estimated to be around Rs 2 lakh.

A swashbuckling all-round performance by Puran Singh (63, 3x6, 5x4, 41b and 8 for 31) enabled World Bank beat Sri Lankan High Commission by 150 runs in a league match of the Raymond Trophy Commonwealth Cricket Tournament at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium ground.
