UP Bhawan staffer killed, thrown from 3rd floor

Ram Shankar Shukla, 38, a resident of Sultanpuri and an employee of the Uttar Pradesh Bhawan, was reportedly done to death by some unidentified persons on the premises and the body thrown from the third floor late last night.

Armed dacoits barge into house, shoot down youth

A youth was shot dead and about a dozen persons were injured when 12 armed miscreants barged into two houses and committed dacoity in Garhi Chowkhavdi village under Sector-58 police station, Noida, in the wee hours of Sunday.

15 family courts to be set up in Delhi

The Centre has sanctioned 15 posts of judges along with 202 ancillary posts of various categories for the setting up of 15 family courts in Delhi. These would be located in different areas in the Capital including the Parliament Street, Kirpa Narain Marg, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg, Saket, Janakpuri Institutional Area, Shahdara, and Dheerpur.

Area committees formed to maintain community centres

Rs 1.05 cr paid in power dues

The total recovery of the pending power bills in the rural areas of the district, under the ongoing ‘waiver’ scheme, had touched Rs 1.05 crore till yesterday. Only three days are left for the scheme to lapse and the power department hopes to recover another Rs 8 crore.
