Music system installed at  hospital

A music system has been installed for the first time to provide soothing effect to patients at the Civil Hospital here. Speakers have been fixed at 17 points in the building, including wards, the OPDs, the waiting area for patients and the emergency wing. Soft and soothing music like “bansuri vadan” is played morning and evening.
The Ropar Civil Surgeon, Dr Harinder Rana, says there is a theory that if music is played in the labour room, delivery becomes easier.


Sanjay school boys stun GMSSS-33

Chandigarh, July 25
The under-14 boys soccer team of Sanjay Public School, Sector 44, today beat Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 33, 3-0 in their opening tie of the Pre-Subroto. Cup, here in the Sector 42 sports complex. The goals were scored in the 5th, 12th and 18th minutes of the game. The opponents were no match to the superb game play of Sanjay School boys. Finally, the GMSSS-33 players left the game without playing in the rest of the period.

It may be recalled that only few days back, Sanjay School boys were almost debarred from taking part in the Pre-Subroto Cup on the basis of a report submitted by an expert committee. However, after the school authorities met the DPI Schools, UT, it was decided to allow the team to play in the under-14 section and not in under-17 section.

In other under-14 games of the day, St Soldier’s School, Sector 28, defeated Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, 2-0 with one goal each scored by Sunil and Mohit.

In the under-17 age group games, Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, got the better of Government Model School, Sector 23, 3-0 with Maninder scoring two goals in the third and 42nd minute, while the third goal was scored Mandeep in the ninth minute. The Chandigarh Football Academy boys will play their first match tomorrow.
