Gillette defeat McCann in Challenger Cup

Gillette defeated McCann by 46 runs in a Group B match of the ESPN Star Sports Corporate Challenger Cup.

Scores: Gillette: 207 for 6 in 25 overs (Anjiv 63, Sushil Mehan 35, Prem 2 for 28). McCann: 161 all out (Divakar 31, Surjit 21, Anjiv 2 for 13, Paljit Singh 2 for 32). Anjiv was named the man of the match.

Dr Morepeen beat PWC by nine runs in another Group D match. 

Scores: Dr Morpeen: 168 for 8 in 25 overs (Arshad 67, Deepak 23, Vaibhav 2 for 26). PWC: 159 in 24.2 overs (Vaibhav 39, Anuj 27, Ajay 2 for 24). Arshad was named the man of the match.

BSES Rajdhani got the better of E-Funds by 43 runs in a Group D match.

Scores: BSES Rajdhani: 203 for 9 in 25 overs (Ajit Chowdhary 96, Manoj Kumar 42, Amit Kapoor 2 for 24). E-Funds: 160 all out (Sanjay Joshi 33,Vikas Sharma 26, Ajay 3 for 21). Ajit Chowdhary was adjudged the man of the match. 

ITC beat HT by 53 runs in another Group D match.

Scores: ITC: 165 for 7 in 25 overs (Gokul 59, Gurpreet 34, K N Bhat 2 for 20). HT: 112 all out in 19 overs (Imran 23, Navneet 19, Ravinder 3 for 29). Gokul was named the man of the match.


Jindal Steel and Power lift Scindia Gold Cup

Jindal Steel and Power beat Signature 6-2 to annex
the Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia Gold Cup Polo Tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground.

Signature forged ahead when Bashir Ali struck home a goal in the very first chukker. Capt.

S K Yadav put Jindal Steel and Power at par when he scored a fine goal, and then Shamsheer Ali gained the lead for them.

Shamsheer Ali then converted two penalties to widen the lead of Jindal Steel and Power. Angad Kalaan scored the second goal for Signature in the third chukker.

In the final chukker, Jindal Steel scored three goals to seal the title win.

Standard Chartered beat Spectramind

Standard Chartered Bank defeated Spectramind by 16 runs in a league match of the third Reebok Cup Cricket Tournament at the Siri Fort ground. A century partnership between Amit and Varun in 11.4 overs helped the Bankmen win.

Scores: Standard Chartered Bank: 185 for 5 in 23 overs (Amit Sharma 72, 4x12, 48b; Varun Agnish 36, 4x5, 34b; Deb Sen Gupta 2 for 33). Spectramind: 169 for 7 in 23 overs (Manish Bhargava 42, 4x4, 6x2, 36b; Manish Dutt 27, 4x3, 26b; Shubh 27, 4x3, 29b; Sanjay Nayal 2 for 16). Amit Sharma was named the man of the match.


Women exhibit their driving skills

New Delhi, February 23
In a show of women power, 200 women in their Maruti cars vyed for honours in a unique rally organised by Maruti Suzuki. Each team was made up of a woman driver and a woman navigator, and the other occupants in the car could be anyone from the participants' side.

The participants were given a navigation chart, which contained route directions and driving speed. The navigator was to help the driver in chalking out the route and adhering to the speed limits. There were several passage control and time control points en route.

If the team missed a passage control or time control point, penalty points were awarded. Penalty points were also awarded for not adhering to speed limits given in the navigation chart.

The team with the least penalty points were declared the winners. The women's power drive also helped inculcate safe driving habits among participants.


Inborn toy with Pelicans in DDCA League

Inborn Club defeated Pelicans by nine wickets in a DDCA A-I Division League match at the Palam II ground.

Scores: Pelicans: 121 all out in 34.3 overs (Deepak Anand 39, Rahul Tanwar 3 for 20, Sonu Vaid 2 for 26).

Inborn Club: 122 for 1 in 20 overs (Rahul Ahuja 59 n o, Bharat Khurana 37).

Engineers India Ltd (EIL) defeated Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) by six wickets in an A-II Division match at Kotla No 2 ground.

Scores: DTC: 286 for 4 in 40 overs (Mahesh Sharma 84, Kulvinder Singh 121 n o, Pradeep Kumar 40).

EIL: 288 for 4 in 38 overs (Pawan Sharma 87, Virender Sharma 85 n o, Chattar Singh 36 n o, Anuj Sharma 34).

Kishan Ganj beat Young Friends by 109 runs in an A-I Division match at Kotla No 1 ground.

Scores: Kishan Ganj Gymkhana: 217 for 9 in 40 overs (Mrinal Saini 50, Dinesh Yadav 40, Ajit Chandela 45, Tarun Dutta 3 for 17, Akash Mehra 2 for 30, Wilkins Victor 2 for 28).

Young Friends: 108 all out in 32.3 overs (Rakshit Pant 31, Tarun Dutta 25, Rohit Sharma 3 for 27, Dinesh Yadav 2 for 17).

E Bookers beat HUDCO

E Bookers registered their first victory when they defeated HUDCO by five wickets in the second Turf Corporate Cricket Challenge at the Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce ground. Ramesh Negi scored a half century to emerge as the top scorer for Hudco. Dhruv Malik of Bookers won the man of the match award.

Scores: HUDCO: 160 for 7 in 25 overs (Ramesh Negi 51, Dilbagh Singh 33, Dev Mitr 2 for 29, Divay Sharma 2 for 32, Rajesh Magow 2 for 30).
