 Chandigarh, April 10Government Model Senior Secondary
          School, Sector 37, emerged overall winner in the girls section while
          Government Senior Secondary School, Karsan, bagged the overall
          championship in boys section in the UT Inter-School Athletics
          Championship organised at the Sector 7 Sports Complex.
 Boys
          (under-14) — discus throw-Yesu Raj (St Anee’s-32) (1), Sahib Singh
          (2), and Arun (3); javelin throw: Nitin Sharma (GHPS-40) (1), Geetank
          (AKSIPS-41) (2), and Sukhwinder (SGHPS-40) 3; 200 metres: Abhilash (Chd
          Baptist-45) 1, Sandeep (Chd Baptist) 2, and Arun (GGHS-45) 3; 4x100
          metres: Chd Baptist School-45 1, GHS-38 2, and St Anne’s School-32
          3. Girls: (under-19) — 4x 100 metres: Sacred Heart School-26 (1),
          GGSSS-8 (2), and GMSSS-37 (3); under-19: 4x 400 metres; SGSSS-8 (1),
          GMSSS-37 (2), and SGSSS-26 3; under-17: 4 x100 metres: GMSSS-37 (1),
          Sacred Heart -26 (2), and St Anne’s -32 (3); 200 metres: Ansnikha
          (GMSSS-37) (1), Purnima (GMSSS-37) (2), and Radha (GGSSS-8) 3. Karate
          team: As many as 15 boys and three girls have been selected by the
          Sports Karate Federation of India for its participation in the 4th WKC
          Open World Karate Championship to be held at St Petersburg, Russia,
          from June 21 to 23, organised by the World Karate Federation. The
          team is : Kiran Shah, Akib Sachha, Anand, Chander, Nandu, Shri Ram,
          Manish, Mihir, Ravi, Mohibali, Sahidali, Manmohan, Navneet, Raj Pal,
          Amit. girls-Sheetal, Sabina and Sheetal Hansari.  Selection trials
          :The Chandigarh Football Academy will conduct revised selection
          trials for boys to fill vacant seats in the academy on April 23 and 24
          at the Sector 42 Sports Complex. Boys born between January 1,1990, and
          December 31,1991, are eligible for the said trials. They should have a
          minimum height of 150 cm and 35 kg weight. The physical assessment
          will be made in skills, playing abilities, anthrometric measurements
          and psychological assessment.  Tennis tourney:
        The second day
          of the Fort Total Tennis Tournament, which was being held on the YMCA
          Total Tennis Academy premises in Sector 11, Chandigarh, saw almost all
          matches going according to form. From tomorrow onwards, the matches
          will be played in both morning and evening sessions. In the boys u-10
          category, the biggest upset so far of the tournament was the second
          seed and the winner of the last leg, Jaivardhan Gupta. He lost in the
          second round of this final leg to Fateh Singh in a tough fought
          tie-breaker which lasted for over an hour. Both started the match with
          hold of their serve till 5-5 and then in the tie-breaker, Fateh played
          some great forehand shots to wrap up the match in his favour at 6-5
          (7-4). Another tough match of the day was in the boys u-14 category
          between Tejeshawar Singh and Raghav Chopra. Raghav started the match
          with a bang as he took the early lead of 3-0 but Tejaswhar fought back
          well to level the scores at 3-3 and again Raghav break back to lead at
          4-3 and lost two games in a row to give Tejeshwar the lead at 5-4. But
          in the 10th game of the match Raghav forced Tajeshwar to play the
          tie-breaker. In the tie-breaker, Raghav played some poor shots to gift
          the match to Tejeswhar at 6-5 (8-6). Tomorrow the matches will start
