Clarification sought on exim form issue
Tribune News Service

Ludhiana, September 13
The District Taxation Bar Association has sought an explanation from the government on the exim form introduced by it from September 1. A special meeting of the association was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of its president, Mr P.C Garg.

He said the government should explain the matter regarding the export and import of goods. He asserted that the import or export of goods cannot be stopped due to wrong filling of forms.

He observed that the ETO should sit regularly for issuing the exim form. During peak hosiery season, the hosiery traders remain busy and they should be issued exim forms as per their requirement and the law warrants that the exim form should be issued to the dealers at least three months in advance.

Advocate Jatinder Khurana said the system of signing the exim form by the ETO should be abolished as due to this a lot of time was consumed while issuing the forms.

Members of the association put their demand that the person who is a dealer of tax free goods and who purchases taxable goods outside the territory of Punjab, should be allowed to become a registered sales tax dealer. The exim form should also be issued to the person who has recently applied for sales tax.

Vice-president of the association Mohan Lal Maini, joint secretary Deepak Kapoor, S.S Galib, KS Grover, Ramesh Sharma, Varinder Goyal, Vijay Maggon and R.B Garg were also present on this occasion.
