Health officials raid eating joints

No fresh cases of diarrhoea and gastroenteritis were reported at Mohali Civil Hospital today. While the patient who came in from the BSF Camp yesterday, Bhavan Chand is still admitted to the hospital, all other patients who were suspected to be suffering from cholera have been discharged. According to the SMO in charge of the hospital, Dr Balbir Singh, Bhavan Chand would be tested for cholera tomorrow but his condition was stable. Meanwhile a team of health officials, including Dr Balbir Singh, today raided a large number of eating joints and sweet shops in the township. Accompanied by the police, the health officials destroyed raw and cooked food at these places which they found not clean enough to be consumed. Some of the places which the team visited included the Mansarovar Dhaba, Khalsa Sweets, Phase V and Hoshiarpurian-di-Hatti, Phase V.
