Govt approaches NDA on Budget session
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, July 3
The government today claimed that it was making efforts for the smooth conduct of the Budget session of Parliament beginning on Monday.

Faced with the BJP-led NDA's threat to boycott the Railway Budget and to continue its agitation on the "tainted ministers" and the removal of Governors, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad told newspersons that he had a talk with Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L.K. Advani for ensuring peaceful parliamentary proceedings.

Asked about Mr Advani's response, the minister said he had assured him that he would have talks with his party colleagues on the issue.

Giving details of the upcoming session, Mr Azad said the Railway Budget would be presented immediately after Question Hour on July 6 and the General Budget on July 8.
