New Delhi, July 14
During a four hour long meeting of the National Executive Committee of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) it was conceded that there was a need to replace the “saffronised history texts”.

While the Secretary of the NCERT, Mr. Vivek Bhardawaj refused to confirm whether any decision was taken regarding the discontinuation of the history texts for class X this year, a member of the Council said that it deemed fit to let the present books continue.

The member told reporters here today, that class X being a “crucial year” for the students, it was considered best to let them “continue with the present texts”.
