Shibu Soren comes out of hiding

Ranchi, July 30
Resurfacing after more than 10 days, former Union Coal Minister Shibu Soren today claimed that he was never in hiding but was “interacting” with people in villages and jungles of Jharkhand.

He also accused the BJP of hatching a conspiracy to create a Gujarat-like situation in Jharkhand before the Assembly elections by digging out a 30-year-old case against him but he foiled their attempt.

Addressing a press conference immediately after arriving at his son’s house here, he claimed that he had addressed several meetings at Jharkhand villages over the last week.

Asked where he was these days, he simply said: “In the jungles among my people”.

He also launched a scathing attack on the BJP saying that “the fascist BJP through the media branded me absconding, missing and going in hiding.” — PTI
