City powerlifter brings laurels Ludhiana, September 19 Pawandeep Singh was felicitated by the Worldwide Health Club at a function held here today. Accompanied by his coach Baljit Singh Bobby, Pawandeep informed that in the 75-kg category, he, with an attempt of total 530 kg, bagged the second position. He lifted 140 kg in bench press, 195 kg in the squat, while 195 kg in the dead lift to secure the silver medal. Punkit of Uttar Pradesh emerged the winner in this championship, while a contestant from Japan earned the third position. Jagtar Singh Lotey (coach), Amarjit Biradi, Puneet Pal, Jimmy, Raju Birdi, Harry, Aman, Amardeep (coach) were among those who attended the felicitation function. |
Gymnasium inaugurated Jagraon, September 19 Mr Sanjeev Kalra, DIG, Punjab, and Mr Rajiv Ahir, SSP, Jagraon, were present on the occasion. Mr Dawar laid stress on the necessity of a sound physique for students to excel in academics and other fields. Mr Kalra advised the students to have purposeful diversions like regular exercise during their spare time.
