Blood donation camp

Panchkula, January 1
As many as 250 units of blood were collected at a blood donation camp organised by Nav Durga Charitable Trust, Mahadevpura, at Pracheen Shiv Mandir, Saketri. The camp was organised by the trust in association with the Department of Blood Transfusion, PGI.

This was the fifth blood donation camp organised by the Trust, said Mr Dev Raj, Chief Patron of the Trust.

Earlier, he had inaugurated the camp. Refreshments were also provided to all those who donated blood.



Amit bowls LIC XI to victory

Fine bowling by Amit Kakaria (4 wickets) helped LIC XI to beat Gopal Oil Mills XI in the final match of 1st LIC Challenger Trophy Inter-institutional Cricket meet held at DAV School, Sector 8, here, today.

Saurav Vij of Gopal Oil Mills was declared as the best batsman and Sanjeev Nessay of LIC XI was adjudged the best bowler. The Man of the Series and Man of the Match awards went to Rakesh Sethi and Amit Kakria, both of LIC, respectively.

Captain Sushil Kapoor gave away the prizes to the winners.

Brief scores:

Gopal Oil: 110 all out in 26.4 overs.

Rakesh 26, Radhey Shyam 21, Amit Kakria 4 for 12, Kulwinder Singh 3 for 14, Sanjeev Messay 3 for 18.

LIC XI: 114 for 5 in 26.2 overs.

Rakesh Vaid 42, Jagdish 46, Ramesh 2 for 13, Arun Saini 2 for 26.


IPSC in final

Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) cricket team has made it to the final of the ongoing National School Games in cricket being played at Agra. As per information reaching here, IPSC downed Punjab by 35 runs in the semi-final. Now IPSC will meet hosts Uttar Pradesh in the tomorrow’s final. UP outplayed J&K in the second semi-final.
