Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures rose appreciably in west Rajasthan, rose in Haryana and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: This was markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 8.2C recorded at Sarsawa (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of February 3, 2006: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of
February 3, 2006:
Partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundry development in some areas. Mist/shallow fog in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 10C.
