NRI Sabha chief re-elected
: At a meeting of the district unit of the NRI Sabha, Hoshiarpur, held at the Mini-Secretariat here on Wednesday, Mr Ajwinder Singh was unanimously re-elected president. Mr Lakhwinder Singh Lakhi was elected vice-president.

DMU overturns
: A Northern Railway DMU overturned Thursday morning here. The local railway authorities said they were investigating the derailment incident.

Gang busted
: The Goindwal police has busted a five-member gang of vehicle thieves with the arrest of its members. It used to sell stolen vehicles with fake documents. A case under Sections 379, 411, 420, 34 IPC has been registered against the gang-members.

Submitted: The Welfare Association EWS Maloya Complex on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the DPI(Schools) demanding the upgradation of the primary school in the Maloya Colony. In the absence of the model or high school, the colony children faced a lot of inconvenience, a press note added.

INAUGURATED: A computer centre set up at Government College, Phase VI, here, was inaugurated by Mr Bir Devinder Singh, Kharar MLA, on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said this was the first government college in the state to have a fully-equipped computer centre.
