Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers have been reported at isolated places in Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms are: Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal, Batote and Kupwara 1 each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell markedly in Himachal Pradesh, fell appreciably in Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, fell in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably above normal in east Uttar Pradesh, appreciably below normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 39.2 C recorded at Gorakhpur and Varanasi AP (Uttar Pradesh).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana, Punjab, east Rajasthan, fell in west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were below normal in Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 12.2 C recorded in Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 29: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 29: Mainly clear sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 32 C and 17 C respectively.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of March 29: Sky will be mainly clear.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
