Traffic police flouts rules

Jagraon, June 21
The local traffic police which had earlier ignored the directions of the Supreme Court and constructed a traffic police picket on the divider of the Ludhiana-Ferozepore road near the roundabout at tehsil chowk, has now laid a big shed in front of the same. They have even gone to the extent to getting electricity supply illegally for this picket from the electric pole installed on the divider.

Moreover the bus-stand is at an arm’s length from this picket, but buses, three-wheelers, tempos and rickshaw are made to halt near the picket, causing problem to long-route vehicles and making it difficult for pedestrians to cross the road.

Surprisingly, buses, tempos, three-wheelers are never challaned by the traffic police here which flout traffic rules. OC
