5 new villages in MC limits

Chandigarh Administration is all set to include five new village to the municipal limits for the forthcoming Municipal Corporation elections later this year. The villages to be included in the MC limits are Hallo Majra, Kajheri, Palsora, Dadu Majra and Maloya.

Sangeeta, a 19-year-old girl, who jumped from the fourth floor of a house in Sector 46 here on May 1, died at her Sector 52 residence this afternoon. She remained bed-ridden and was operated upon several times.

Mohali to have police station to deal cyber crime

The Punjab Police will set up the first police station at Mohali to deal with cyber crime. The services of cyber experts will also be taken for solving the cases. This was stated by Mr G.D. Pandey, Inspector-General (Crime), Punjab, here today. He was presiding over a session organised by Symantec India.

As many as 529 tax assesses filed their tax returns today at different post offices across the city. Today was the second day of the facility started by the Postal Department following an agreement with the Department of Revenue.

Dewan Modern Breweries today stated that last year they were selling Godfather 10000 beer at a fixed rate of Rs 250 per case, which was being further sold by L-2 licensee to the bars (L-3/L-4 licensees) at Rs 650 per case.
