Greater Mohali Development Authority okayed

SAD MLA from Dhuri and Tamil Nadu Governor’s son, Gaganjit Singh Barnala, arrested for raping a house maid in his Sector 3 MLA Flat on Saturday, was today remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody after he was presented in court following a day in police custody.

Milk vendors staged a dharna outside the police station in Nayagaon today in protest against the registration of a case against some milk venders by the police on Saturday.

Nabard scheme to check groundwater level

The Punjab Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, today said NABARD would soon cover Punjab under the100 per cent drip -irrigation programme. After planting a sapling in the premises of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha to celebrate Vanmahautsav, Capt Amarinder Singh, said there was a serious threat posed by the constant depletion of the ground-water level.

PGI staff union expels 8 members

The general body of the PGI Employees Union Chandigarh, today approved the decision of the executive body of the employees of expelling eight members, Mr Subhash Chander, Mr Jagdish Singh, alias Jaggi, Mr Gurcharan Singh, Mr Ram Pal, Mr Bal Krishan, Mr Jarnail Singh, Mr Manohar Singh and Mr Balraj Sharma, from their primary membership.
