City Beautiful becoming foreign tourists’ haunt

Sukhna Lake has always been a tourist’s delight. But now there is a need to improve its ecology, says a study conducted by the Department of Zoology, Panjab University. The study, “Aquatic diversity of Sukhna Lake”, was conducted between December 2005 and July 2006. It was submitted to the UT Environment Department recently for perusal.

Punjab Education Department officials conducting an inquiry into the alleged detection of insects in rice bags in a school in Mohali have found that insects were not found in cooked food but in a new bag of rice that was issued from stores of Punsup a few weeks ago.
