Wadali brothers hurt in mishap

Amritsar, October 9
Noted Sufi singer brothers Puran Chand Wadali and Pyare Lal Wadali and three members of their troupe were injured when their Tavera vehicle collided with a stationary truck on the Amritsar- Jalandhar road in the wee hours today.

While Puran Chand Wadali got internal injuries, his younger brother Pyare Lal was stated to be serious. They were rushed to a local private hospital. It took several hours to operate Pyare Lal, as bones of his lower jaw were fractured in the mishap.

They were going to Dehra Dun to attend 'Virasat Mela' , a mega event slated for this evening.

The others injured in the accident included Parvej Raju , a singer , Buta Mohammad, a tabla master, and Satwinder Wadali, a nephew of Wadali brothers.

Senior officials of the district administration today visited the hospital where Pyare Chand Wadali was operated upon. The Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, called up the local administration to ensure the proper hospitalisation of the injured in the accident.
