Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms. are: Himachal Pradesh; Dharamsala 2 and Palampur 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures changed little. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Haryana, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the region was 38.8C recorded at Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures changed little, Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 18.6C recorded at Jodhpur City (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 15, 2006: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in north Punjab and at isolated places in rest Punjab, Haryana and west Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
