CPM sees BJP, Cong hand

New Delhi, December 4
The CPI(M) today accused the BJP and the Congress for launching what the party categorised as a "politically motivated" stir against the sale of land to Tata Motors and cautioned them against creating "another Midnapore", observing that the West Bengal Government had already taken care of alternative means of livelihood for the affected farmers.

Rejecting suggestions that the Left party was adopting "doublespeak" on the issue of acquiring farmers’ land for industrialisation, the Left leaders insisted the basic issue involved providing the best deal pertaining to land use, compensation, improving skills and training them for alternative vocation. — TNS
