Cold wave conditions have abated from east Uttar Pradesh.
RAINFALL:
Rain or snow has occurred at most places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in west Rajasthan and at isolated places in Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.
The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Solangnala 5, Dhundhi 3, Patsio 2 and Bhang 1, Jammu and Kashmir: Pahalgam 4, Banihal and Batote 3 each, Quazigund and Srinagar 2 each and Baderwah, Kupwara and Katra 1 each.
TEMPERATURE:
Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.
Departure:
They were markedly above normal in Punjab and Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and west Uttar Pradesh, above normal in
Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 7.3 degrees, recorded at Sultanpur (Uttar Pradesh).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF DECEMBER 6:
Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Haryana, Punjab and west Rajasthan and at a few places in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING:
Isolated heavy rain or snow is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.
OUTLOOK FOR THE SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:
Decrease in precipitation. Night temperatures are likely to fall in the region.
FORECAST FOR DELHI AND NEIGHBOURHOOD VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF DECEMBER 6: Cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers. Mist or fog is likely tomorrow morning. The minimum temperature will be around 14 degrees.
