Trees on road not axed yet

A lot of hullabaloo is being created by the district administration about the observance of the Road Safety Week, but a dozen odd eucalyptus trees that had caused a road mishap in this village, which claimed six lives five months ago, still stand tall exposing the lackadaisical attitude of the authorities concerned.

There appears to be a consensus among Jat Sikhs in both the Congress as well as the Shiromani Akali Dal on at least one issue.
They want that only a Jat Sikh be fielded from the Ludhiana Rural Assembly
constituency as it is a predominantly Jat Sikh seat and not a Ramgarhia seat, as
is being made out.
The chill has failed to throw cold water over city residents’ plans to continue with New Year celebrations. Those celebrating are publicity conscious, seeking media coverage of their parties. They include institutions and associations holding New Year parties now.
