Telephone cables stolen
: An inter-state gang had allegedly stolen telephone cables laid by the BSNL on the intervening night of December 25 and 26, 2006. Due to this about 5,000 connections went out of order. BSNL authorities had lodged complaint with the police and subscribers were assured connectivity within three to four days. But the company had failed to restore the telephone lines so far. This has forced its subscribers to switch over to other companies.
