JE held: A Junior Engineer working with Jhajjar Market Committee was arrested on Wednesday for using substandard material for constructing a lane at Tohana. The Forensic Science Laboratories
(FSL) confirmed the substandard quality of the material.

2 die in mishaps: Dhaniram (80), a resident of Ward No. 5 here was killed on Wednesday on the GT road. He was hit by a vehicle. The victim had gone to Babarpur village in the morning and while returning from there he met with an accident and died on the spot. In another incident Mandrup Singh a resident of Assan Kalan also died in hospital here on Wednesday. He was injured in an accident on January 6.

Rape victim, kin ‘vanish’: Kin of rape victim and her husband on Wednesday alleged to the police the woman, her husband and three minor children had gone missing and might be in the custody of an office-bearer of Haryana Kalyan Manch. Two brothers of the victim and two of her husband complained to DSP Het Ram that manch official here was holding the family in custody and wanted their release.
