Tension defused: The district administration on Thursday helped in
defusing the tension between Dalits and zamindars of Draj-Draka villages over
the issue of dumping the carcasses of cattles near Dalit basti. The
administration accepted their demand to remove the carcasses from Draj village.
Post office fined: A Consumer Forum on Thursday directed
the local Head Post Office to make a payment of Rs 1,00,750 of National Saving
Certificates, including interest to Bhagwan Singh along with Rs 1,000 as
litigation expenses within a month.
1 killed in road
mishap: One person was killed and eight injured when a tractor
trolley, carrying them, overturned near Mehli village on the
Phagwara-Chandigarh bypass on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as
Paras Ram, a resident of Dharamkot locality. All of them were returning after
attending a marriage at Dosanjh village.
Accident: Ravi, a motorcyclist, died when a tempo hit him near Luhari village on the Rewari road on Wednesday night. He was coming from Heli Mandi in Mahendergarh district. Deepak who was riding pillion, also received injuries and was admitted to a hospital in Gurgaon. The police has arrested the tempo driver.
Road repair: Twelve highways, including three in Jind district, will be improved by spending Rs 71.55 crore, Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda said on Thursday. The Deoban-Naguran and the Safidon-Jind highways will also be improved, he added.
Killed: Krishan Lal (25) was crushed to death by a truck at refinery premises here on Thursday. He was a resident of Kota in Rajasthan. Krishan Lal. He was standing near a wall when the driver of another truck who parked his vehicle near spot resulting in the accident.
