Handwriting camp

Mandi Gobindgarh, January 23
A handwriting awareness camp was organised at the RIMT- College of Education, Mandi Gobindgarh, by the noted graphologist and graph therapist, Mr Mohan Ray, who is also the founder of the Institute of healthy handwriting and the pioneer of Healthy Handwriting Movement in India.

The camp was meant to motivate students so that they could further work on their handwriting.

In the end, Dr Rajwant Kaur, Principal of the college, thanked Mr Mohan Ray for equipping the budding teachers with latest knowledge about healthy handwriting. OC

Fellowship for doctor

Dr Vaneet Kaur, Senior Consultant and Coordinator in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at SPS Apollo Hospital, here, has been awarded the Fellowship of Indian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (ICOG) for her academic contributions in the field of her specialisation.

The ICOG was established in 1984 with the aims and objects of promoting education, training, research and spreading of knowledge in the field of obstetrics, gynaecology, reproductive health, family welfare and related areas.

Manjit, Harminder bag 2 titles each

Manjit Kaur and Harminder Kaur hogged limelight winning two titles each on the opening day of the 37th Annual Sports Meet of Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town here today. Manjit annexed titles in the 800 mts race and long jump while Harminder Kaur stamped her supremacy in the 200 mts and 400 mts.

Earlier, Mr Gianinder Singh Sandhu, District Sports Officer, Ludhiana inaugurated the meet. He took salute from the participants at an impressive march past. Mr Sandhu dwelt the importance of sports in the overall development of one's life. Ms Charanjit Kaur Mahal, Principal of the college welcomed the chief guest.

Results: 800 m- Manjit Kaur 1, Parvinder Kaur 2 and Virpal Kaur 3; javelin throw- Saminder Kaur 1, Sukhwinder Kaur 2 and Minder Kaur 3; 1500 m- Karamjit Kaur 1, Palwinder Kaur 2 and Meenu Arora 3; shot put- Sukhwinder Kaur 1, Karamjit Kaur 2 and Ninder Kaur 3.

High jump: Balvinder Kaur 1, Sukhvinder Kaur 2 and Palvinder Kaur 3; 200 m- Harminder Kaur 1, Gurpreet Kaur 2 and Palwinder Kaur 3; discus throw- Ninder Kaur 1, Sukhvinder Kaur 2 and Shaminder Kaur 3; long jump- Manjit Kaur 1, Balvinder kaur 2 and Sukhvinder Kaur 3.

Three-legged race: Harminder and Balwinder 1, Palak and Shivani 2, Poonam and Sarita 3; 400 m- Harminder Kaur 1, Gurpreet Kaur 2 and Ritika Sharma 3; skipping race- Manjit Kaur 1, Meenu 2 and Balvinder Kaur 3; clerical staff race- Ravi 1, Sajjid Ali 2 and Sandeep 3.
