Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region. Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures rose in Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan and change little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably below normal in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in plains was 0.5C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of 26th January 2007: Rain/snow is likely at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Under the influence of approaching western disturbance rain/snow is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of 26th January 2007: Mist/shallow fog in the morning. Partly cloudy sky afterwards. The minimum temperature will be around 7C.
