DC orders criminal action against vets
Ludhiana, January 27
Vet doctors, who were claiming deaths of livestock in Punjab due to their postings on poll duty, are in trouble with Mr Ashok Kumar Gupta, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, directing Senior Superintendent of Police,
Jagraon, to immediately initiate criminal action against Mr Gurbax Singh, president, Veterinary Pharmacists Union, and other members of the union for violation of model code of conduct of elections.
Cong nominee’s supporters booked for assault
Raikot, January 27
The police has booked two persons, reportedly supporters of Congress nominee from Raikot constituency, under Sections 323, 341, 506 and 34 of the IPC for allegedly assaulting and threatening to kill son of former MLA Nirmal Singh Mahant, who has recently been inducted in the SAD as member, Political Affairs Committee, SAD.

Talwandi blames Cong candidate for violence
