Maruti cars to cost more from Feb

New Delhi, January 29
All models of Maruti will cost more with a maximum hike of up to Rs 12,000 from February 1, said Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL) CEO and MD Jagdish Khattar today. Hyundai Motor India, Tata Motors and Honda Siel Cars India have already upped the prices of their products.

''We have informed all our dealers about the planned price hike to be effective from February 1 and the price hike will be across most models, except the new Swift which is being launched with an introductory price,'' Mr Khattar said here. Hyundai has increased the price of Verna by Rs 3,500-10,000.

Tata Motor has increased the price of its sport-utility vehicle Safari by Rs 15,000 and the multi-activity vehicle Sumo by Rs 5,000. However, it has abstained from raising price of the popular Indica range. Honda Siel Cars India has also increased the price of its existing City range by Rs 5,200 to Rs 8,400 and the Civic range by about Rs 12,000. UNI
