Fertiliser subsidy to touch Rs 30,000 crore, says Paswan

New Delhi, February 2
Union Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said that the fertiliser subsidy is expected to touch Rs 30,000 crore in the next fiscal year, an increase of Rs 2000 crore.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said that assuming that the ministry got the arrears of 2005-06 of Rs 6,000 crore from the finance ministry, it estimated the fertiliser subsidy during the next fiscal year at Rs 30,000 crore as against Rs 28,000 crore this year. The Cabinet cleared the NPS stage III yesterday.
