Raids on liquor vends: 19 cases of violation detected
Ludhiana, February 9
A team formed by the District Election Officer (EO) detected 19 cases of violations under the Punjab Liquor Licence Rules after conducting raids on liquor vends in the city late last night. As many as 12 teams formed by the EO, one for each constituency, will conduct frequent raids to enforce closing time of liquor vends in the city.

Mr Komal Khanna, a former Ludhiana urban district youth Congress president, was today suspended from the party for his alleged anti-party activities. The suspension orders were issued by the Pradesh Youth Congress president, Mr Vijay Inder Singla, from Patiala today.
