Big haul of liquor seized from village
Ludhaina, February 10
A team of Excise and Taxation Department officials, headed by Mr Jaswinder Singh, ETO Ludhiana -II, seized a big haul of liquor from Boparai Khurd village following a raid late last evening. The department officials also imposed a penalty of Rs 1.10 lakh on the accused.

92 polling stations declared sensitive in Jagraon
Jagraon, February 10
There are 302 polling stations and 493 polling booths in Jagraon. Raikot, Qila Raipur and Dakha constituencies and some area of Sherpur and Bhadaur constituencies also fall in the jurisdiction of police district Jagraon. At least 32 polling stations are very sensitive and 92 sensitive this time.

Two nabbed with stolen wallet
Jagraon, February 10
Vishal of Rajkot and Ravi of Babu Nagar, both from Gujarat, have been arrested by the local police with stolen wallet of a passenger. The police has registered a case under section 382 IPC.

Under officer Lucky Verma, a student of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women and cadet of the 19 Pb Battalion, attended the Republic Day parade in New Delhi recently. She was part of the contingent which represented Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. She attended a 30-day Republic day camp before the parade. In the camp, she participated in group song and group dance which were adjudged third and second, respectively, and she was given cash prizes.

Seema scored a hat-trick as Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Bhart Nagar Chowk, recorded an emphatic 5-0 win over Khalsa Girls High School, Kila Raipur, in Ranjodh Kaur Grewal Memorial Women's Hockey Tournament being played at Guru Nanak Stadium here yesterday. Laxmi and Lakhbir Kaur contributed one goal each. In another match, Guru nanak Model Senior Secondary School, Doraha, pipped Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, 1-0.
