SBoP meet: A meet of retired officers of the State Bank of Patiala was held today at the Sector 35-C branch of the bank. The meet was presided over by C.S. Kang, deputy general manager, Chandigarh Zone. Chief manager of the bank V.K. Gupta and convenor of the State Bank of Patiala Retired Officers Unit, Chandigarh, Harish Walia welcomed the guests, who included retired general managers, deputy general managers and other retired officers. They were told about the new deposit and loan products launched by the bank and on SBI life and mutual funds. The officers shared their experiences for business growth of the bank.

Free tests: Sponsored by an NRI couple, the Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Diagnostic Centre conducted clinical tests including ultrasound, X-rays, gyane check up, ECG, ECHO, TMT and various blood tests to mark the International Women’s Day.

LECTURES: In order to create awareness on various beneficial projects for women, an NGO ‘SHEE’ has organised a seven month long awareness generation programme (AGP) at Mauli Jagran village. With the association of 35 women, the society has planned awareness lectures by resource persons for imparting knowledge on divergent issues emphasising on empowerment of women, female foeticide, marital problems, HIV- AIDS causes and prevention. The information about the government sponsored plans for upliftment of women to provide them self-employment.
