Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at many places in Uttaranchal, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm. are: Himachal Pradesh: Dhundhi 1 and Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 2.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximumtemperature was largely below normal in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, markedly below normal in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and appreciably below normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 30.C recorded at Jhalawar.

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperature was markedly below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, below normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 5.8C recorded at Adampur Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 17: Weather will be mainly dry over the region. Strong surface winds are likely in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
