Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was dry in the rest of the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose appreciably in Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, rose in Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, appreciably below normal in Haryana and east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 36.2 degree Celsius recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

The lowest temperature in the plains was 10.4 degree Celsius recorded at Adampur (Punjab).

Forecast (valid until the morning of March 20): Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Precipitation activity is likely to increase in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Isolated rain/thundershowers are also likely in Haryana, Punjab and west Rajasthan.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood (valid until the morning of March 20): Sunny day. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 30 degree Celsius and 17 degree Celsius, respectively.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Mainly dry weather.
