Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at most places in Jammu and Kashmir, at many places in Himachal Pradesh and at a few places in Uttarakhand. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Bunter and Kasol 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Quazigund 6, Banihal 5, Pahalgam 4, Batote, Bhaderwah, Jammu and Katra 3 each and Srinagar 2, Punjab: Malerkotla 1.
Temperature: Past 24-hour change: The maximum temperatures rose in west Uttar Pradesh, fell in west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.
Departures:
They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan, above normal in west Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38.8°C recorded at Jhalawar (Rajasthan).
Past 24-hour change: The minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana, rose in Punjab, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.
Departures: They were markedly above normal in Haryana and Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in west Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 12.4°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).
