Nandita keen on dance school
Shveta Pathak

Nandita PuriActress Nandita Puri soon wants to realise her dream of opening her dance institute, preferably in the place of her birth —Chandigarh. Puri, who began her acting career via tele serial Campus some 15 years ago, is an established kathak dancer.

And her love for dancing is not restricted to shows within and outside the country. Incidentally, she was the choreographer for Sardari Begum. “I am not open to filmy dancing which is why I have remained involved in this art form by imparting training in the dance institute Sangeet Mahabharti in Mumbai and performing at shows in Ajanta and Ellora and also overseas.”

To realise her ultimate dream of keeping classical dance and music alive among youth, she plans to open a dance training school.

Her soft looks gain her positive roles with which she is quite content. At present she has two serials on air, Mayka on Zee TV and Sanskar on DD. A film based on the subject of surrogate motherhood in which she would cast along with actors Alok Nath, Rituporno Ghosh and Divya Dutta is on the cards. “I am focusing on TV serials and am happy doping the roles I get.”
