Fatehgarh Sahib
MEETING: Nilabh Kishore, SSP, convened a meeting of district police officials here on Monday. He told them that the public grievances should be redressed on a priority basis.

Training camp: 
A district level farmer training camp was organised by the district agriculture department at Krishi Bhavan here on Monday. Experts from Punjab Agriculture University and state agriculture department explained various aspects of crop diversification.

Dharna: Members of the Lal Jhanda Paper Mill Workers Union staged a dharna before the Mukerian Paper Mill on Monday. It was held to express resentment against the mill management for not accepting their long-pending demands.

Building razed
: The shops owned by a Congress councilor at Kaki village on Dakoha Road were razed by the MC on Monday. The shops are owned by Vijay Dakoha. Commissioner S.S. Johl said the building had been constructed in an unlawful manner.

Sum sanctioned
: A sum of Rs 2,99,55,000 was sanctioned for the ongoing cleanliness drive of Kali Bein at the meeting of the planning board.

CAMP: A blood donation camp was organised by the Vishaw Jagriti Mission at Gobind Bagh Ashram, Rajpura road, Patiala, on Monday. It was inaugurated by MLA Kuldeep Bhattal. As many as 211 youths from different units of the ashram donated blood.

PROGRAMME: The Punjab Pollution Control Board will hold a two-day training programme on “management of hazardous waste and industrial accidents” at Hotel Mountview, Chandigarh, from March 28. Chief secretary, Punjab, Ramesh Inder Singh will inaugurate the programme.
